You realize that doing MA makes YOU a dork in the eyes of John Q. Public in a lot of cases? Funny, most of my friends (and myself) are into rpgs. Most of us have extensive martial training, from ex-military to MMA practicioners. Some have that and Ph.d's. We're all pretty well "grown up" (30+) with wives, gfs, fiancees and jobs and houses and the like. Heaven forbid people should have a fun, creative outlet that gets people together socializing rather than pontificating about imaginary mystical forces on the internet. Geeky and proud, -Mark

Not sure I follow you. My point is, that calling someone a dork can be the pot calling the kettle black. Many people think the "angry white pajama" thing is dorky. Or the hakama, or my longsword for that matter. Other people think it's cool, or don't give a crap. Many people just consider it a complete waste of time. Like none of us have ever had anyone make Bruce Lee noises if we say we do MA. That's because they're mocking the person in question. So when Taiji_Lou was calling Bear a dork for playing D&D, I pointed out that there would be those that would consider him a dork for doing Tai Chi. And that's fine.
