Anyone seen Silat Mubai's videos? I've seen online clips and dvds for sale.

    Any comments/experience?

    Hi Paul!

We practice Silat Mubai. It is a comprehensive and very combat-oriented approach to Silat. Not much in the way of flowery movement or the "cultural decorum" associated with a lot of styles. Its philosophical foundation is 'Futuwah' which is something like 'bushido' for Muslims (I hope I didn't offend anyone with that comparison!) I've done other systems of Silat, and I find Mubai to be one of the best in my experience. The juru-juru are quite unique, and the applications come very easily and logically from them.

I suggest you email Ustaz Hussein, the founder. He's a little intimidating in the videos, but he's a super-nice guy to talk to - very down to earth.

    Good Luck,
    Karn Evel

I wouldn't wait around for an answer, given that the message you quoted was from 7 years ago.
