Just feeling out at the moment as the Jujutsu class fellthrough. Anyone know of any good shooto classes in the london or hertfordshire area for amateurs ( i.e not planning to compete at all)
Don't know about "shooto" per se, but London shootfighters comes to mind in Kentish Town, North London. Basically MMA. http://www.londonshootfighters.com/ edit: looks like they have moved to Acton, West London
These guys teach CSW (essentially Shooto blended with Machado BJJ with a few extra tricks) http://www.crossface.co.uk/
You also have Fight factory in N1 off Old Street Station, never trained with them and not Shooto (MMA, BJJ, Wrestling, Boxing and Muay Thai) but they seem competition active. Shooto as such doesn't really exist outside Japan. At any MMA gym the majority of students do not compete. FYI "Amateur" in combat sports generally means "competes but not for money".
