Great thread! Now I need to get pictures... Extra points for having pictures of empty-handed striking that ISN'T a roundhouse kick
I think this shot of me landing a Mawashi Geri, which is a screenshot of a video, is from July 2012' - We were running various restrictive sparring drills on the day, and I believe this was a legs only round (I was hoping to find the original, before the filter was added, but it appears that this is now the only copy in existence!) Travess
I don't have any pictures right now of my current CKD training, but looking through my old fencing pics, here's me measuring the travel of the tip with a shim (the "button" on the tip must have at least 1.5mm of travel, and the scoring light must not go off until the tip is within 0.5mm of the end-of-travel, and if that isn't the case, you have to open up the tip with tiny screws and adjust various tiny springs inside). As much as I love fencing, this picture sums up things a little bit too well. Because far too much of fencing training, in real life, is armorer training instead of competitor training
This was an interesting session. Eskrima stick v 4ft metal bar. Completely destroyed a stick in no time. Also made a lovely noise.
He's young. He'll bounce. Here is a picture of the both of us teaching a boxing footwork session for The Practical Karate Association. This was a seminar today in which we were invited along as guest instructors. Some of you may recognise the venue, as it's the same place where the MAP Meet is held.
Digging deep for this one - Taken back in 89'/90', when I (on the left) was a wee little 14/15 year old whipper-snapper... ...adopting the traditional TKD hands down 'guard' that still makes me cringe to this day! Travess
When MAPpers collide. Myself and @Lupi Lou and she is sporting a rather nice belt after a tough gradin
The least flattering picture I could find. Imagine it. You walk into the cage and standing across from you its a skinny that with a crap haircut..... And he beats you.
