This cracked me up. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6P7U176yhI]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6P7U176yhI[/ame] via Tony Gentilcore
lol funny I wasn't even aware that the overhead press had joined the category of 'dangerous exercises'. As far as I'm concerned, it's just another exercise. Then again, I lift at home, in what is I suppose a utopia consisting of a standard bar, a bench and squat rack, some dumbells, and a hill.
I find OH Press a really tough exercise. I see a lot of people using the legs though to get more weight on the bar
I tend to just do seated overhead press these days as standing really over tightens my lower back at times.
Great video! The problem with OHP is that you can make it easier by leaning back and letting your pectorals do more of the work. This is exactly why it was banned from powerlifting competitions, using this method it actually became dangerous.
That picture makes me cringe. Like the opening to an episode of "Casualty"...you can see the danger...you're just waiting for the accident to happen.
I did wonder about the thumbless grip, otherwise it looked good, and I really like Martin  I did some Overhead Press just a little while ago, superset with Deadlifts
Amen for the home gym! Don't know what I'd do without it. Harukoraharu, I tried the OHP with a thumbless grip and actually found it quite comfortable. Didn't detract from the weight I could lift at all. Also, made me focus more on correct form.
Nice humor! Very good demonstration of the overhead press by the "outlaw." Personally I like the thumbless grip as well.
Probably deserves its own thread, but here's another of Martin Rooney's videos. Even funnier than the first. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIitQDHUjb0]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIitQDHUjb0[/ame]
