I only found out the other week that I wasn’t vaccinated, apparently on the advice of the doctor !
    Though it was the 70s.

I will be going in shortly for an antibodies test for measles. I don't have a list of my immunizations. I have not talked to my dad in decades. And he is a hoarder anyways, so I doubt he could find my records. I had all the standard immunizations, but it turns out I may or may not need a second shot.

This is a dilemma with people in my age group. The answer is to ask your Dr to do the blood test. Then you can tell if you need the second shot or not.

Immunizations done for older people may not be sufficient. This is another issue contributing to the concerns about measles coming back. Just curious if some of my fellow older MAPpers have looked into this?

Just saying anti-vaxxers are a huge part of the issue, but now it is the responsibility of those who thought they were vaccinated, but may not be sufficiently, to look into it too.

This is an article on the subject.

I'm no Scientologist but I do know they have stated medical positions on things, and vaccinations are not one of them. Same for standard preventative and internal medicine, injury/surgery and the rest. They generally allow all of that stuff, or at least leave it to personal preference. Most likely the measles incident involved someone who was either immunodeficiency and unvaccinated, or maybe people who happened to be anti-vaccine.

What the church does have a stance against is psychiatric drugs and mental illness medications. It would be really hard to run their operations if their members were allowed to seek psychiatric treatment.
