I have nothing more to say about our dimwit friend Ralphy, I am just chiming in to correct an earlier inaccuracy with one of my posts.

Eairlier I refered to the training Rangers recieve as "special forces" training. I have been informed by a friend, that Rangers are in fact part of "Special Operations" as opposed to "Special Forces" Perhaps there is no difference to most of us, but there is a difference to people who belong to those groups.

Sorry to any Rangers (or other Special Opperations members) viewing this.

    For clarification only:

All special force units fall under the comand of SOCOM ( Special Operations Command ) regardless of branch (Army Navy Airforce Marines). Socom issues the orders based on the mission and objective that needs to be acomplished. In some cases diferent special forces units will work together to acomplish the mission somthing like Marine sniper and Green beret's/ Rangers Seals etc.

Each branch has its own special ops unit which is designated for high risk or time sensitive operations. Each unit has a primary mission so Seals attack boats, Rangers attack buildings etc.

The training each unit recieve varies and is tailored to that units specific/primary mission.

Just email him telling him you have been inspired by the American Ninja movies and want to learn kuji to defend your neighbours.

He loves that type of thing.

A former student of Ralph Hall

I know that this may be a dead issue for many but since I have just read this entire thread today it is far from dead to me.

I am a former student of Ralph Hall aka DJDreamaker. I was his student when reclassing my MOS from 25U (Signal Support Systems Specialist) to a 25B (Computer Systems Analyst) at Ft. Gordon in the year 2006 or 2007. Forgive me for the fuzzy memory as far as the year, i don't have the papers in front of me but the year i was there really is of no consequence. I would spend my days in class at Ft. Gordon and as soon as i was released at the end of the day you would find me at Ralph's house from about 4pm to 10:30-11pm every weekday. On the weekends I was there from around 9am to around midnight. I did this nearly the entire time i was at Ft. Gordon because I had heard about Ralph's "teachings" when I was visiting the PX (a store on base for soldiers) before I had gone through the process of company and class assignment, and needless to say I was a very dedicated student from the amount of time and effort I had put into training. Even Ralph himself was impressed with my interest in learning the "art".

I spent a little over 6 months at Ft. Gordon and before I left Ralph had told me that I had "earned" my black belt in Togakure-Ryu-Tai-jutsu. I asked him if I had truly earned such an honor because I was sure it would take much longer than 6 months to accomplish that task. He told me "No, you have such an incredible insight when it comes to understanding and applying the techniques that you have accomplished what has taken many years to learn" I will admit, I was very proud that day and for years I have talked about what I've learned including family and friends. I have even successfully defended myself using what I had learned from Ralph on more than one occasion against both single and multiple opponents. No, I have not killed anyone using these techniques.

I haven't spoken to Ralph ever since I left Georgia. I have tried to contact him a few times but got no answer. I later learned that at that time he was incarcerated for carnal activities with a juvenile. I was shocked but I still had no idea as to how much of a fraud he really is until now. I recently tried to do a search on him and not only did I find this forum but several other pages which you people have linked on here in posts that brought a lot about this person into light. I also did my own unbiased research to see if he in fact is legit and I spoke to an instructor in Dallas, TX who gave me a list of everyone who is a togakure-ryu-tai-jutsu instructor in the world and their locations. The instructor stated that if Ralph isn't on the list then he is not a real instructor and what he is teaching (however effective) is not togakure-ryu-tai-jutsu.

Needless to say, but Ralph Hall is not on this list. My research only proved one thing and that he is not only a pedophile but a complete fraud. Words cannot describe how disappointed, betrayed, and enraged I feel right now. For years I have honestly believed that I achieved a life long goal. I will admit that I can be a gullible person and even too trusting but WOW... you have no idea what if feels like to find out that a person who you revered and had such a high level of respect for is an absolute douche bag child rapist. I am considering tracking him down and visiting him in Reno, Nevada (his last known location) just so i can stomp a mud-hole in his ass using the real art and put a stop to this con-artist.

Please feel free to respond or pm me.

    Naazdrekk, welcome to MAP.

Please note we're a family friendly site, so don't allow profanity. Masked or otherwise.

Interesting story. I can understand why you feel so enraged.

So what is this togakure Ryu Taijutsu instructor list then?, I think you'll find it is a load of rubbish, there is no such list in the three kans apart from the sokes, so if they're not in any of the kans then they don't exist

If you navigate through this site you can find every instructor in the world. If I am incorrect then I guess I stand corrected and would like some info on finding the real deal so I can begin my training.

No, not all instructors are on that website. In fact, not even most are on there, I would bet...

The best thing you can do is to use your own sense when looking for a competent instructor. Check his credentials – who is his teacher? Anybody can name Hatsumi Masaaki as their teacher, but those who are his actual personal students can be counted on two hands.

Given the amount of bad instructors in the Buj and the issue with rank and ability being completely incongruent to the point of meaninglessness, it would seem that using your own sense as a new student would be a total lottery?

It seems I would most likely have to travel to Japan and learn from someone there.

....Or just go to the martial arts clubs in your area (visiting several will be an education in and of itself probably) and find one that (a) teaches a style that fits well with your objectives and, crucially (b) is run by someone who is both skilled and a good role model

If that happens to be xkan then great, but I'd suggest that narrowing your options by only wanting to study XYZ art is not the best way to settle on any time consuming activity
