Ya, I did a double take when I saw that, and wondered -- is that who I think that is?! Dude! I guess it is! I've said a couple times on MAP, I met a guy in California who could fight with tai chi chuan. He is not someone I would want to scrap with in a "real str33t fight" -- his fighting skill was legit. He insisted on including the word "chuan" -- "internal BOXING" -- because he was quite adamant that it was a "boxing" style -- that it is a martial art for fighting. Such people are not common, but when you find someone who actually knows what he's doing -- mind blown! Internal boxing works!
lol yes, my "student".. I wish!! I can only imagine how awesome it would be to train with him though, wow.
Anderson has never been averse to cross training - he has done a little JKD and "trained" with Seagal for a session His willingness to "give things a go" is a refreshing example
I don't follow MMA, and don't find it entertaining, but Silva's command of distance, space and timing really is something to behold.
And then some. From Wikipedia: Anderson Silva (born April 14, 1975) is a Brazilian mixed martial artist and former UFC Middleweight Champion. Silva holds the longest title streak in UFC history, which ended in 2013 after 2,457 days, with 16 consecutive wins and 10 title defenses. He has 13 post-fight bonuses, the second most in UFC history. UFC president Dana White and several mixed-martial-arts publications have called Silva the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. He is currently ranked the #6 contender in official UFC middleweight rankings.
