I've been having pain in the second thumb joint for months on and off and it's worse after heavy grip and computer use. Im an animator by trade and Im seriously wondering if I should reduce my grappling to protect my digits or if I can find work arounds.

I've been recommended to try a splint, anyone know any good ones?

I've found physio room to be an excellent source for things like this,

Thumb Splints & Supports - Thumb Stabilisers | Physio Room

They're also on Amazon if you normally order that way too.

I've found doing nogi with monkey grips, or even Gi without using grips as much as possible to best way to still train whilst having joint issues like this.

Yeah, gotta protect those hands. I try to balance it, since I do a lot of coding at work, I do little if any computer use after work. Phones are bad for hands and wrists too. How is your setup at work, ergonomically? Can you cut back on anything outside of work?
Also if you don't have the muscle to support your activities that could worsen it too.
