    Aiming for this one as not been to one before, Pretty sure there is no competitions around that time that I will be attending.

    Hypermobility is often lumped in with EDS, but EDS syndrome(s) whilst on the surface can similar, can also be drastically more severe.

    If your up north Sheffield have an excellent genetic service for suspected EDS.

    We're down south, but she did have a two week appraisal/ physiotherapy programme at our local orthopoedic hospital,
    about three years ago when she was twelve. One of the main problems was very tight hamstrings, making straightening the back
    and standing for long periods painful, made worse by condition known as chronic pain syndrome( basically nerves misfiring and sending increased pain signals)
    One of the problems associated with chronic pain in children is that it can end up making physical activities/exercise painful and uncomfortable
    so avoidance makes the condition worse.
    Luckily my daughter's condition has greatly improved as she's grown up.

    Thats really good to hear!

    I was recently in hospital at the same time as a poor teenage girl with vascular EDS, apparently she wasn't due to live more then a few more years because of her condition. It's a very misunderstood condition.

    This is a nice article as well about living with a less severe form of EDS.
