And to point out once again. Charity Demo Bout = Real tournament =
Noted and we will follow up on this accordingly Pat.
The offer has been made. We (MAP) await your responses.
serious? do people really know how a new system gets "tested" back here? i'm sure that pat knows.
old school...surrender, stick drop, knockout/ death.
i believe that someone (or some people) have been called out.\
don't worry salvatore, i assure you that i will be there to guarantee that it is settled in the tradition of filipino martial arts.
You still got some of that Popcorn ???
forget the popcorn! break out the sisig! send out for chicharon and inihaw! bring the san miguel beer! crack open the lambanog! this is something worth watching.
and so that you guys won't be disappointed, i will ask my friend to tell the mayor of cebu not to stop this one.
I don't eat popcorn, so everyone can steal mine... though I can't remember having any recently... I might be able to offer crepes instead, but they're not exactly traditional for watching entertainment with.
This looks good. The way I see it, either the guys who have been making all these claims accept the challenge and get whupped by Pat in the Phillipines (or in a surprise to all of us, actually prove themselves to Pat's standards), or they back down and we pass the story on to the rival magazines...
(by the way, I appreciate the fact that even though there have been loads of other mods participating in the thread, I'm the one named TWICE Or maybe I'm just still not with it this morning and find this amusing for a completely random reason)
MAP will honour your request. With regards to the video, who owns it or has a copy of it. I'd really like to see it and can arrange for it to be hosted.
p.s Where's the video
If they have no desire to persue this any further, then as far as I am concerend the subject is closed, no more need be said and no thought of it need be given. To any magazine or media for that matter.
I am willing to put my reputation on the line but not for the advantages of any mag no matter how good the read is.
You just know that they aint gonna accept it
Pat, you know you dont have to do this?
You have nothing to prove to anyone what so ever!
If fact i rather hear about you enjoying your retirement and playing with your kids and Lucy for a change! (as i am sure your always busy).
Peace and happy playing!
a keyboard combatant!
yea seek me here,
yea seek me there,
seek me everywhere,
with a thunderous blow of rattan against bone blar blar blar blar
Now wheres that video gone??????
Sorry, Im not too good at this Keyboard Combatant stuff yet, Im only a 3rd level blue belt.....
So was that a yes or no Salvatore?
And do you have the video?
They clearly aint gonna post the video...
He was enjoying his retirement, that's why he had time to do demo's and favours for people. And he liked promoting other people in order to spread the art. He would rather keep it that way as he has done what he is now asking of the others, in the first place to get where he is today and should not have to do it all over again. But if that is what it takes then so be it.
I think he has been very fair giving them 8 months to earn their reputations and also learn the real stuff if they need to, in order to accept this challenge.
I would not have been so nice....if they think they are good now I would have made them do it now, but that is the gentleman/sportsman Pat is. Also though I can see his point that if he was to do it now, here, would only benefit one magazine and not the FMA which has always been his first love (Until I came along of course) .
He feels he has to do this for the true spirit of FMA and what better way than the real way.
How people can water down the art and then attempt to advertise their expertise as the best in FMA off other peoples backs(When in fact it is no longer FMA once they have done that)when really they are just doing a sport version.
But that is fine they want to pretend they are real FMA, then they can do it the FMA way.
Most FMA'ers are trying to unite the art, but while the commercialists are trying to cause devides. This will kill the art in Europe before it even takes off. We do not want to see this happen by a bunch of people after personal gain and we all know when they find something new they will be off dabbling elsewhere. So we cannot let them ruin it in the 5 minutes they play with it.
Play with the art, there will always be dabblers which is fine we do not mind as long as they learn something from their experiences. But I get the impression this lot do not even know the culture and mindset of true FMA while they feel it is o.k to insult it. They do not realise they are insulting the art as a whole, not just one person and questioning everyones FMA abilities and reputations.
But if they want to leave it and carry on dabbling that is fine also, we can go back to enjoying our new addition to the family and Pat's sporting retirement. He will not think any less of them as he does not even know them and I am pretty sure if in 10 years time they have their own reputation he will be the first one to congratulate them and even promote them, but not right now, they are not ready for it and most certainly do not sound like they deserve a leg up.
However for some unknown reason, Pat has offered them the perfect chance to show him how serious they are about their FMA and to be put on the FMA MAP so to speak. :woo: :woo:
I watched Pat speak to many top FMA'ers and even other MA'ists over the weekend that have said to not let this get to him as this is very nieve on their part.....but this is the FMA as a whole they are trying to put down by treating it this way. They will end up destroying it's character and reputation as a deadly but beautiful art that also has a fun sporting side attached to it and Pat could not live with himself if he let that happen.
If you were in the same position to do something about it, wouldn't you? Before it gets watered down any more by so called innovators.
Tell you what, it is going to be nice.....this time next week we should all be able to have a rest from all this BS.
Lot's of love
What's the matter, can't hack a real challenge?!? Not willing to put your money where your mouth is? It seems you don't even want to post the original video, never mind talk about how you and your buddy have been CALLED OUT. Let's see who the keyboard combatants are now.
This has suddenly become infinitely more fun
Pat: I for one would be too lazy to do that anyway, it would be entirely your call in my eyes. I apologise if I sounded presumptuous
This is becoming immensely good fun! More beer and popcorn is however needed.
Just to warn you....if the video is edited or released for commercial gain, Pat has said he will sue for defamation of character. Which he could of done anyway for the false article, but chose not to.
However, should you wish to post the full version on here that is fine.
So you do not need to say any more about it, just get on with it. But just to remind you, it was never the result that came into question it was the falsification of the event. If you think that is all Pat has to offer well hhmmmm, is all I can say. Ask those that have fought or seen him fight in real tournaments.
I would be worried about the fact that he has got 8 months also to train for this Juego Todo. But who am I to say anything. What do I know, you could be the best thing since sliced bread. I just hope he does not hurt me during his training, who are we going to get to be his training partner. Any volunteers?
