    That was awesome, I wish we had events like this in the UK....
    HEMA is something I have always wanted to study at some point in detail. Nearest group is too far and clashes with my current training and work. This is something I would love to do.

    Just to be clear, the fight shown isn't HEMA. To be HEMA, there has to be historically verifiable techniques, or at least a justification based on such. There are no manuals on sword & shield fighting as shown there. It looks like HMB/BotN style which is decidedly (and openly) ahistorical. Not to say that it isn't fun and awesome as well. Many HMB fighters crosstrain in other martial arts, but it's about as HEMA as backyard wrestling.
