list of weaponry from standard to more obscure

    Now thats it. Thanks for this pic. Its a common saying here to hear "its not in the pana but its in the indian" meaning its not the weapon thats key but the man who wields it. :)

    Here is an obscure weapon that I just remembered.

    Back in the day, I had the good fortune to train in the Filipino art of Mongoose. It is a CQC art that is supposedly taught only to the bodyguards of Iglesia Ni Cristo leader, the late EraƱo Manalo.

    It relies on grabs and short punches and kicks and misdirection and redirection. A whole lot of small circle footwork and handwork. The one thing that I think stood out is that there was always a contact point. A trapped arm or leg.

    Anyway, what makes this relevant is that they had a ring that had a hidden, spring-loaded, surgical blade that was curved. It was meant to be used when you held your opponent. It was suppose to cause much damage to skin, muscles, tendons, and veins.

    Obscure and effective.
