Did you run just after the kata and bagwork, with proper running shoes? When I was doing more running I would start on a shorter distance and add a mile when I knew I could run it, but back in the day I would often overpace a 5k and have to walk a street near the end just to get my breath back (even with Deftones screaming in my ears). Now my HR just won't go as high so though older (and a bit slower) I can usually keep running even if I continuously push myself on the pace
yeah, just after the kata and bagwork, no proper running shoes. I do have them, I just forgot to wear them.
Crossfit warmup, then: 3 rounds: 10 20kg thrusters 5 toes to bar, 5 situps 10 box jumps wanted to do 5 rounds, but my legs crapped out on me. Damn am I ashamed. My quads just went 'screw you, I'm not doing this', causing me intense pain.
CFWU then 20 sumo deadlift high pulls 20 thrusters 5 toes to bar 15 situps 30 box jumps 20 SDHP 20 burpees 20 shoulder presses SLAUGHTERED!
I'm supposed to be. Truth is, I haven't been to karate class in a while. Bagwork and kata is about as far as I get these days.
The crossfit warmup is: 3 rounds of pullups dips situps back extensions squats 'samson stretch' It's supposed to be 10-15 each exercise, but that's not realistically possible for me with the pullups and dips.
I spent the intervening time making concrete. It's been.... hard going. Today, I returned to my teenage training regime, with the addition of some turkish getups. 3 rounds: 10 pushups, 15 situps, 5 pullups. 3x3 20kg turkish getups, both sides.
You doing those with a kettlebell? If you have some sandbags, you can try them with those to change things up a bit at some point. They are a full body killer.
1 mile running 30-20-10 pushups 20-15-15 situps 1-4-2-2-1 pullups how come I sucked so much today? I can usually do 8 pullups straight off. Not good. Not good at all.
Spent the intervening time doing various horrible jobs that left me too tired to work out. CFWU then 15,12,9 70kg deadlifts and pushups. A bit wussy, to be honest. I could have gone quite a bit harder than that.
that's the one where you kneel on one knee and push forward, stretching the trailing leg, with your arms raised above your head, fingers interlocked.
well, it looks like I'm veering back towards starting strength again. yes, yes, I know, I know, I should pick a plan and stick with it. 3x10 bench press @50kg- felt a bit light 3x10 squat @60kg- again, a bit light 3x pullups to failure: 7,2,2 again, why the suckage on pullups?
