The chances of any American soldier being involved in hand to hand combat are about as much or less as when they go home on leave. And there aint really anything bad about admitting you were drunk..unless you live in the UAE or Dubai or somewhere where they have 5000 princes and a whole lotta cash..No Im not sticking up for ya I just hate the sobriety police

Not the "Sobriety Police" I just think a forum is a place to exchange useful information, not a place to make personal attacks against someone you don't even know. But I guess everyone is ok with that here, so I guess I will take "Betty's" advice and go to another forum where hopefully I can find some Martial Artist.

Dude, I'm 57 so don't try to pull rank with age. Yeah I served in the Marines from 1971 to 1974 and served overseas in Iwakuni Japan with VMA 311. Never saw combat and can't say that I'm sorry I didn't. You made the claim about being in H2H life and death combat and so it is up to you to back it up. I have been nothing but polite so far but the brush off of my questions makes me think either you were never in the service or you exaggerated about your combat exploits. You can choose not to provide information but you should realize that you're credibility will not be worth much here on the forum because of your unsubstantiated claims. I'm sure you would be skeptical of someone who claims to hold high rank in TKD or Hapkido and then gets huffy when you ask for his credentials.
I can't recall anyone I've known who has served who wouldn't discuss the basics of their time in the military. That includes the chap I used to worked with who served as a member of the Special Boat Service.
There are a lot of vets (former members of the military) on this forum. He may or may not have been telling the truth but when you make claims about your past to present yourself as a subject matter expert you should expect to have you credentials questioned and be willing to provide some background information to verify your claims. Just like I did with that very small bio about my time in the Marines. So in this case it is a vet questioning the claims of someone who says he is a vet.

Could you tell me please what the problem is with just saying which conflict you were in and which unit? Honestly as an outsider I'm having trouble seeing why you couldn't clarify this.
I will. You could have cleared this up with a I served from x to y. I was overseas in x with name of unit from x to y and saw combat as a list your MOS here. That would have been enough to give you some base credibility as to having served. Instead you get insulted and post things like above. I believe you are a poser and I have little respect for people who claim service, especially combat service, with out being willing to back up their claims.
