karate vs boxing: more 'practical' in street fights?

    I think we are to far in to turn this into a poll, in addition there are enough threads on the subject elsewhere on MAP.

    The way I like to settle these arguements is a Youtube battle. How many videos I can pull up of a Boxer defending himself vs. how many I can find of a Karateka. :)

    That would prove nothing.

    You would end up posting the same 4 or 5 videos we see all of the time and just because a video has had millions of hits does not mean it is a reflection of boxing v karate used for self defence.
    It is hardly a scientific experiment is it?

    Defending yourself starts way before a punch is even thrown.
    Hardly likely you are going to see a you tube video of someone using verbal disuassion is it?

    No, but it's as ridiculous as the original question, style versus style has been done to the death. I was being sarcastic, I keep forgetting it doesn't come across when I type it :p
