I imagine the OP dreams something like this...
Nah, you can use Muay Thai kicks in JKD kickboxing. You can also use a straight blast but you'll probably get clocked for it
Just to aska question, would you consider MMA/ Sambo as a standup style since they do a mix and are not strictly a standup fighting one? If so i will take either of them for sport over Karate, just because they seem the most rounded. That and they will probbly just train in stand up should they be fighting in a stand up competition.
Another point, there is one leg take down (?) competitions. i dont know if you woudl deam somone trainign for a competition like that as training in a style or not though, but if there is a competition which allows it there will most likely be a trainign regime for it which could be a deemed a style in itself. Dont know if it make sany sense somone who knows better/ is mor eexperience dcorrect me or take the good bits out of it.
MMA isn't a style, it's a ruleset
Sambo is primarily grappling based, although there are "Combat Sambo" competitions that allow for striking
I was thinking about sambo, as i didnt actually know if it was strikign absed or not but cheers anyway.
My 12 years old nephew almost stopped talking to me some years ago because I told him Boyka wasn't a real fighter.
I showed him videos of Pacquiao and Mayweather and he told me: " Are you serious? Boyka would kill them"
Clocked with a sidekick or a teep? please explain further
With a punch to the face. You can chain punch on people who aren't as good as you, but it doesn't work on better folk. Long knee, clinch etc. Like every technique, it can be countered.
Ah...makes sense now. I was confused.
Absolutely it can work in better folk, but because people do it wrong it gets relegated to a lesser technique status... you don't enter on a blast or treat it like a jab or cross because that isn't the timing on it
Well I like PiPs JKD, and I also like Hs JKD, but which way to find out whos best?
