It was fantastic, superb club and instructor. Can't wait to get training again. Sorry for this pretty pointless post, just wanted to share my enthusiasm.
It was just my first lesson, but I intend to go back and join up, really enjoyed it. The club was in Crondall and the Instructor was Guy Preston It certainly seems that way, it's good though, I really needed to start doing something again.
At this place? http://ninnikudojo.webs.com/aboutus.htm I remember that feeling, of having the bug. I miss it lol.
yeah that is their webpage. Think I'm going to be reading up on it a bit now. Anyone got any pointers on places to buy a Gi and some Hakama? I think so long as I get plain ones it's ok.
http://www.ninecircles.co.uk/ Watch out for the iai ones, the koshi ita may not be suitable for ukemi. Look at the Aikido hakama but check with your teacher in case he has specific requirements.
He doesn't sell them, he did say he could give me some suggestions for places to go to. Just thought it was worth getting more input. I think he recommends Blitz on his page, and suggested trying Ebay in the lesson to me.
yeah.... I don't know what that means. Is it good? regardless I thought it was good. Felt like I learnt more in one lesson than I did in all my years of Tae Kwon Do.
Genbukan. http://www.genbukan.org/ It means you have a good chance of getting some solid training however personally I'd be curious why they aren't still part of the Genbukan. Just go and enjoy it for a month or so then worry
Ah ok, it did seem very good to me, I don't have that many other options either, I really want to start learning Ju Jitsu so I had 2 choices try an Aikido club (I know Aikido isn't Ju Jitsu, but I think it has some similarities?) that I went to once and didn't like much or try this one. It was a very small class and I got some very good feedback on where I was going wrong.
Koryu (old school) jujutsu in the uk is pretty rare, I don't think you could even get into double digits with the number of Dojo that teach it. Gendai (modern) on the other hand has loads of different styles and clubs. And before the Takamatsuden do their nut I've left you out mostly because you're too confusing for n00bs.
