Woke feeling physically drained, probable the week and a half long bender Ive been on, consumeing nothing but cola and cigerettes and simpley surviving on nothing but junk food and internet porn for a girl friend, which might I add leaves me feeling just like my last girlfriend did, alone. I started smokeing again about a week ago, just to spite myself I think IDk. I havent worked out for a week either, just not motivated I guess. So what the hell I say Im gonna go look for a job, moms been hasselin me for that, and what do you know I walk up on a concrete crew just up the street and get hired an hour later. Its a game changer for me, Im motivated to quit smokeing an Im looking forward to eating right again. Im going to use this log to record my activity and diet as well as log my physical and mental condition from day to day.

Never seen that logged in the...logs. I guess some people need to remind themselves. But didn't you brush your teeth? Filthy lad! :)

But good luck with your training and log.

Strewth! And I think I got problems!

Which reminds me. When I used to work as a labourer I always had two breakfasts. Whey and porridge early. You may not feel that hungry first thing. But it's worth eating something before you start on site.

Then your Breakfast break at around 10.30 am (Is this the same in the States as it is in Wales?) - Usually some kind of sandwiches.

You can practice deadlifting girders in your brief quiet moments. And you'll find you'll probably need to cut down your weight-training frequency etc because the labouring'll really take it out of you.

I got really good at iron-bending when working on site. Good Luck and stop smoking now.

Lols and thank you for the feed back, I appreciate the fact someone is actually reading this. I dont really understand whats going on with me to tell you the truth, and I likely shouldnt be posting any of this on the internet but I am for some reason another lols. So after shoveling three tons of rock by hand I woke up this morning realizing I actually felt alright physically, except for the fact that I couldnt fall asleep last night due to my frothing rage which I seethed in from 11pm until I passed out from it at about 1am or so. I didnt have to be at work until 8 but I got up at 6:30 and spent a half hour doing rotations and basic stretches, I didnt notice any soreness at all though. I havent had a cig or a coke all day today so I think Im back on the wagon with that, and I even took my vitamins today Im looking and feeling a little better in my own opnion. Its 4:30pm here and I know I should watch some kungfu movies and stretch but Im not sure whats next tonight. Really I should throw some punches and kicks and go a few rounds shadow boxing but Im jst not motivated. Hopefully I will be fully on track here soon.

Yes the labor is takin it outta me but Im pretty sure I will get used to it enough to have some kind of light routine here before long, I can stretch, practice punches, kicks, blocks, footwork and shadow boxing though. Im concened about my diet, really concerned actually, I dont want to become over worked and under nurished, I know that will bring MA to a stanstill.

Honestly, your MA should be pretty far down your list of priorities for now.

Sort out a regular job, get a routine, get yourself grounded, eat good food, sleep well.

All those things will contribute to each other in a Virtuous circle, leaving you feeling better, fitter, able to exercise harder and so on.

Martial arts are great, but personal well-being and relationships are much more important.

Ya know Mitch I couldnt agree with you more, I really do need to slow it down and handle up on my responsibilites. Our Instructor calls it zeroing in on what we are responsible to and for, chiefly ourselves our family and work. Thanks for the reminder. I will focus on takeing care of those things for a couple weeks then see how ma goes.

Alright here goes nothing. So about two weeks ago I started a new job as a concrete laborer right, and so far Im hanging in there, the work is really hard but its not only making me stronger but also tougher. At a guess I would say Im burning 1000 calories a day at work. Now I did a ton of ma as a kid an I was in the Army in my early twenties and I also was into lifting weights when I got out of the service, my point is Im not afraid of hard work and I have some experience in fitness.

So Ive really only been working out again for about six months at this point, Im doing ma and body weight exorcizes as well a few dumbbell sets here and there, mix in some step platform routines for cardio and then some shadow boxing. That's all working pretty well for me and I will go into detail about how Im putting all that together later.

Now Im 36 years old and its important for me to say that for about six years I was a couch potatoes couch potatoe, I smoked about a pack a day and ate nothing but junk every day, if I ate at all. Well that all changed, I knew I wanted to get back into ma for selfdefense and personal reasons, but I hadn't a clue how I was going to re enter.

With out going into my whole journey I can tell you that its taken me over a year to get to where I at with tings now, ok enough said.

Ive learned to listen to my body, what hurts, whats weak, am I hungry am I thirsty so on and so on, and I try to cater my routine to that. Food Im learning is a very big deal, I have been trying to asses how much I have acess to and what kind I have acess to and keeping this in mind when decideing what kind of work out I would preform.

So anyway these are notes to myself as much as anythong else nothing else for now.

    To S. from J.

The more I study my body, my world and the martial arts the I lean to believing that work outs are very much like cars, lols Im being truthful though. The whole system is like a car, more like building a car, some times a new car every day, and the fun part is that you get to test drive it too. Each day is like a road or street, you never know what lies ahead or what follows behind sometimes. Our vehicle must be able to safely take us where ever we need to go right, what I mean is this.

I have strived for many many days weeks months and years to find a workout method that would be suitable for each day no matter my conditions or circumstances. I wanted to find something that would be a constant and routine, something that would almost love me you could even say. I wanted the car that would go all places at all times in all weather lols. I found it does not exist. Conditions on the road are not always favorable for anyone type car, so to the conditions of life are not always favorable for anyone certain method of exorcize, you must have no way as way, in other words do not cling to anything for the sake of nostalgia or out of misplaced love. I will tell you how to know if your workout is not good for your conditions.

When a driver takes the wheel of a car he becomes one with it, by this I mean he gains a sense of where his tires are at all times, he knows when he is inches from the shoulder or when he is inches from another bumper, he listens closely to te engine as it revs knowing exactly when to shift either up or down. Your body will become one with your routine, physically mentally and spiritually. I will finish this for you some time later.

ok so this is my work out log space here on map. And like most personal writing spaces I have owned in the past ten or so years I have managed to create an assortment of odds and ends here that likely n one but me really understands, and that's ok for now lols. If anyone reads this and wonders what the world this is then feel free to ask.

Hey whats up, its been a while since I last posted here sorry Ive had some drama in my personal life here lately. Some of you may have seen my upper body routines posted above, odd as it may sound I actually spent weeks and months actually years trying to get that work out right and I think I actually have. If by chance any of you adopt it as your own work out let me know, I would love to know how its going and working for you.

I have some new material to post in this work out section of map Im still trying to figure out how to post it though and I actually need to do a little more research on the subject before I record any of it here.

So this is just a check in for now and a heads up that I will be posting further workouts and taining principles and methods in the coming weeks. Thanks and be safe.
