I don't know anyone that is even transgender let alone someone that considers themselves gender fluid or something. It's something that does seem to rile people up out of all proportion to how often they actually encounter such people.

Just as a note on this. No Scottish person would ever refer to them as a scotch. Most common terms are Scottish, Scotsman or any profanity the English care to call us

I don't think anyone reasonable would think that he's saying communism and national socialism are the same thing because that would be ridiculous. He said equivalent, not identical. If I said that an apple is equivalent to an orange I could mean size, weight,, calories, flavour. It certainly sounds to me like he's equating how bad the two are in light of far left groups which like to espouse communism and then refer to anyone they don't like as nazis. That's not logical gymnastics. That's noting the use of specific language and ignoring an interpretation which would be so ludicrous that it shouldn't even need to be stated.
You're seriously going to claim that paying attention to specificity of language and larger context of a discussion in which comments take place is "mental gymnastics?" Really? You don't get to slip in name calling at people and retorts then demand them not to talk to you. Not how forums work.
I was being cheeky and showing Mitch that anyone making commentary on something doesn't somehow prove whatever you say it does, because no one could take seriously the idea that someone responding to a post makes the responder an idiot any more than taking a twitter comment in context and with specificity of verbiage, makes one whatever insulting term you decide to level. That hypothetical dependency of "if someone responds then they're an idiot" was not directed at anyone in particular so I hadn't considered it to be necessarily insulting anyone. Apologies if anyone thought it was directed at them in particular.
