here's a scenario for you guys. Take every movie that JCVD made and replace him with Jet Li. Would the movie have been better with Jet Li? Now take every movie that Jet Li made and replace him with JCVD. Would the movie be better with JCVD? I was a big JCVD fan, but now I'm hooked on Jet Li. Thanks in advance for sharing your opinons and let's get a good discussion going on this thread. TNT Tommy :woo:
Jet Li My vote's for Jet cause his career goes way back (Once upon in china and many more) and I dont liek any jean claude movies xept fort Bloodsport. From some of the interviews jean claude just comes off to damn cocky, talkin about no woman can resist him and stuff like that. Jet on the other hand is still humble, heck he even opened up a martial arts school where he hires the best instructors and teaches students for free, now thats just Anoter thing is Jet pretty much trained in every CMA there is thats a big plus and gives him the versatility to play a bunch of roles jean claud couldn't. /edit you're right though, some roles are just made for certain actors.
yeh i agree. if i was to watch kiss of the dragon or romeo must die, it wouldnt be the same if it were JCVD. Same with kickboxer or universal soldier with jet in.
LOL, probably not. But he also can't do a constant 180 degree head kick either in every movie, lol. If one person has a trade mark in virtually every movie, except for one of his new ones "Wake of Death", its his kick. I vote for Jet Li though because he is a versatile MA's, did MA's movies the traditional, non-stunt crew way before (like Jackie Chan)and lives the MA's way too. I heard he practices the Buddhist ways every day and also trains every day while shooting movies. Not sure about Jean Claude Van Damme, how much effort he puts into training now even though I heard he wanted to participate in K1 again or something. Christian
There is only one way to solve this - Googlefight. http://www.googlefight.com/index.php?lang=en_GB&word1=Jean-Claude+van+Damme&word2=Jet+Li
Jet Li is fantastic, no getting away from that, however i feel JCVD is the complete package, i.e., the bod and the moves. However, i certainly don't like his attitude/personality. From an acting point of view Jet Li takes the lead in my opinion, as Jean Claude seems to try to hard with those open arm expressions and looks false in the process.
{ I can't believe I'm actually posting in this thread } JCVD could not do "The One" because he could not do a convincing circular fighting style. Therefore, Jet Li wins.
