Before you think otherwise, this is in fact a seirous question!!

What is it Japanese workers do? You always see the droves of the little men in sharply pressed clean suits wlaking across the pedestrian crossings going to work every morning and returning in the evening.

However, what is it they actually work as?

I dont know how to answer this, I need a 'shakes head in despair' smilie.

I keep looking for the joke but I dont see one.

Are you, in truth, asking for a profile of the Japanese economy?

The same thing those folks in suits you see in London day in, day out on the tube are doing- working for companies. Probably for the most part in general office jobs. I know that doesn't specifically answer your question but what do you really want a breakdown of Japan's white collar employment?

What a strange question. They all work in supplies, of course.

They have a big Automotive industry (Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, etc). A massive consumer eloctronics sector (Sony, Toshiba etc) and the Coastal areas tend to be very big on fishing.
