ITF encyclopedia equipment

    Just curious if anyone has actually built any of the equipment such as the forging posts for home use? An if so, did you go exactly by the instruction or did you use alternate methods?

    Forging posts for the DoJang, but it was always modified by those that have the mechanical ability (not me for sure!) to the physical structure it was being placed in.
    IMHO it is a vital part of TKD training, one that gets ignored far too often by what seems to be an obsession with sports & not sd!

    Makiwara basically.

    Yes as stated above it is a Makiwara basically. It is often a wooden post with rope or twine wrapped tightly around it which provides a hard target with some give to condition your tools (mostly) hands with. However with the emphasis on sport, combined with the kiddie invasion which have left many TKD schools focusing so little on conditioning or hardening of your tools for sd.
