After MOD discussion it has been decided to approve this thread, however, if you're only here to pimp your site, then the thread gets shut down.

Has anyone used a similar product and found benefit from it?

I've used them before. After I'd mashed my hand up, my physiotherapist made me use them to help rehabilitate my hand. I'd told him that I saw them in China and already knew about them. It was a nice little surprise.

I own a set of these, but I've never needed to use them for anything like this. I might try them next time I have an assignment to write though...

In the ancient time the Baoding ball was also a throwing weapon.

Do you know the true Baoding ball has a small ball inside it. If you shake it, it will sound like a bell. People use it to put in a square bag. When your opponent throws that bag at you, it can generate some warning sound to indicate a bag is flying toward you.

Surely the sound thwack of knuckle of face is a pretty good indicator and why would you want to give a warning?

The square bag is not used as weapon. The Boding ball inside the throwing bag is for training "safety" to throw bag amoung training partners. When a 20 lb bag flying at your face, it can be dangerous if you are day dreaming. I used to sew 4 Baoding balls at 4 corners of my square bag.

I train the "Baoding style of SC". My teacher came from Baoding. Even my 1st Louhan teacher (my brother in law) came from Baoding. I knew the usage of Baoding ball long before it was even heard by the western world.

3 things are famous in Baoding: baoding balls (鐵球), flour sauce (面醬), ardisia squamulosa presl (春不老).

Hi , thank you so much to share the knowledge about baoding ball you knew with us.
It is indeed you knew a lot about it and earlier than most of western people.
But i really have not heared any opinion about square bag.
    As far as i know,
In the before ,the baoding ball is solid ball ,can be as a throwing weapon.
But later, baoding ball was used for health, in order to interesting, make an sould plating inside ,so you can hear some chiming when rotate them.
    I am from baoding too.
Can you ask your teacher again about the story of square bag?
    Or you remember wrongly?

And many people know baoding ball is one of the 3 treasures in baoding, but they do not know what are the other 2. As for me i also donot know how to translate them in English. Thank you ,i know how to say the other 2 treasures.

Thank you to join our topic.

    No, I can't use those.

Metal against metal to me is like fingernails against a chalkboard for others. I can't stand it. I have to be careful my knives and forks don't ever touch when I eat.

So, no, I won't have two metal balls with the risk of them touching and causing me great discomfort.

Metal against metal is just AWEFUL for me. I have no idea why. I have always been like this.

hmm, yes. someone really can not stand that kind of sound.
For the new user, the 2 balls will be touched each other. So need to practice more ,then the 2 balls will not touch again. At that time it dedicates you control these 2 balls.

My dog practises something called 'badoing ball'. The ball is rubber, and goes 'badoing', and he chases after it.

    Really?
some of people here they also play walnuts.
And this kind of walnuts is very expensive they sell, basically in USD50-USD85.
Much more costly than baoding ball's.
How much did you buy one set?
And is there more people to play walnuts in Canada?
