Hi folks, I am currently researching quite a bit of history for a biography of a well know kickboxing coach that I am co-authoring. George Bruckner is mentioned as he organized several full-contact events in Europe in the 1970's and owned (owns?) several Martial Arts magazines. On one site I found it said "the late George Bruckner". I tried to e-mail the WAKO but their site has no contact section. So can anyone confirm that he has passed away? Thanks!
Old post..... I'm interested to know this also. Mid intrigued by the pioneers of the original sanctioning bodies.
I read a blog a while ago that said he died in the early 90's, it was a blog though, so veracity might be questionable.
http://www.backkicks.com/goerg-f-brueckner-died-20-years-ago/ ''In 1992 our global martial arts community lost one of it’s most memorable and controversial personalities: Georg F. Brueckner of Berlin, Germany. George died of cancer on December 30th 1992 in a Berlin hospital after battling for his life for many years.''
It's true George Bruckner died in 1992. He was a great drea friend of mine. If you have any questions about him, feel free to ask me. There is also a FB page about him with some personal pictures: https://web.facebook.com/Georg-F-Brückner-218285541625943/
