I am helping a friend set up his iMac computer, to use NTL Broadband through an ethernet cable, but am having problems.

When I install the disc, it allows me to enter the username and password, and goes quite far, but then stops near the end of the installation, saying that there is a fault with the network, and that its to do with the DHCP or something.

Any ideas as to why this wont allow me to get any further? NTL havent been much help... :bang:

It is an iMac using OS X Tiger, if that helps

Try doing it through the isbn cable instead.
If that fails, check the dhcp number the mac is set to is the same as the one ntl want you to use.
It that fails, ring apple for support instead of ntl.
