That was every night together with the same amount of crunches and a load of other stuff. I want to get near the weight he can shift now. Free weights are my best bet as he's used to machines in school. Don't think it'll ever happen though
I am aiming (when my back is sorted and the garden is done) to concentrate on fitness first and strength second. Then once i'm happy with my fitness i will concentrate on my strength. Oh and maybe some MA whilst i'm at it lol. I think i may spend more time on fight training rather than syllabus tho. How do you train to be able to perform 300+ push-ups? Is it just up-ing your number each time?
He started at 6 doing 10 then 20 etc: until 50 or 60. Once you get to the point you can easily lift your body then it's more a matter of picking a number, the jumps are then in 50's. It got to the point he had to do 1 arm ones in the dozens. He trained for about 2 hours a night sometimes more so he was very strong for his age. Still is.
Last time I checked, a few years ago, the number was 30 to 40-ish. Now, I probably can only do 20. Why do I feel bad all of the sudden?
In my twenties I would regulary do 100 without a pause, now I don't do them at all. I do a few variations sometimes during warm ups, but it is not something I practice.
I just started them again today. Rushed my workout for some reason and felt guilty so hit the push ups and PX90
I think the best way to increase the number and endurance...is to start inwards and work ur way out to wide arm. So do as many dimond push ups as possible..then readjust to normal and do as many as u can..then outer etc..all while staying in push up position.
