How do you respond to threats

Crisco jokes aside, I honestly do respond to posturing (read "not serious threats") with things like I said earlier in the post.

Dude: "I'm going to kick your ass."
Me: "I hope so, I hope you pound it hard too. You don't even have to use any Crisco. I want it."

I've found that stuff like that is usually enough to either diffuse a situation or make them disgusted with me enough to not want to talk to me anymore. Very rarely do I get too worked up over stuff. If I do and things are getting threatening or highly annoying I'll usually give the person a heads up that if they do something one more time we're fighting (which has happened). I usually don't find myself in a lot of situations where I'm threatened though.

If there is an actual threat of serious violence, my course of action tends to be to remove it or if I can't, get away from it as fast as possible.

I soundly thrash any ruffian or ne'er-do-well that has the audacity to look up from the gutter as I pass. It's the only language they understand.

You NEVER need to validate a Road House reference. They validate themselves. No questions asked.

I'm sure most everyone is looking to defuse (with a deep desire to "Purge")

I disagree heavily. Just because I don't take falling down the stairs seriously doesn't mean it can't harm me. I might not take a guy seriously, and that could trigger him to lash out for not getting the response he wanted.

Better to take seriously, but not lose your cool

I'm having a re-think as this question is beginning to bug the heckout of me... It doesn't have to be an acronym to be masked profanity, belltoller

    All too often

    little threat = [IMG] response

    big threat = [IMG] response

The ability to consistently deliver the appropriate response in any given situation seems to be the holiest of all holy grails and at the same time the most arduous quest one could undertake.

Younger or older guy? Has he taken Cialis or anything that might speed up this disgusting process?

Once I threatened to spit in this guys face and he was like.. 'If you spit in my face I will literally kill you!' So I picked him off the ground and slammed him finishing him with a few hammer fists . We were fighting on a concrete floor covered in broken glass.

Was it Jon Jones? He likes to kill people who spit in his face... or he says he will at least.
