Ms. Gea Johnson, an Olympic weightlifter, bobsledder, and heptathlete, proves that lifting heavy is possibly the best method for achieving any physique goal you may have. If, after checking out some of her pictures, you still think women can only get "all man-ish and bulky" you've got other issues.

Not necessarily. Just do whatever you were going to do, but start off with 3 sets of overhead squats. We'll call it even. :D

They look like powerlifting plates which are deceptively thin.

They look thin, but if you look closely the ones in pic 9 say 15kg, so shes got 60kg on there + bar, which aint bad for a man let alone a woman. But even if those weights are small, she's forgiven lol ;)

I think some of you are missing the point of this thread. If all you've gotten out of this is how thin the plates are, you totally missed the point.

    What's your point?
The dude who started the thread said that the best way to make gains was to lift heavy. It was observed that the weight may or may not be that heavy. I think that has everything to do with the "point" of the thread.

Well, if you see the diameter of those plates...

A kilogram of steel occupies less volume than a kilogram of rice. But they still weigh the same.

Is that assuming most plates are made of rice?

If that's a joke its not funny.

Dude, I'm just trying to describe the difference in size of two different things but still have the same weight.

The last time I looked, I tipped the scale at 175 pounds. A barbell loaded with the same weight will occupy less space than I do.
