strange enough i used to work a door in canada where the head man kept a pair of nunchuks in the trunk of his car, and would get them out at the end of the night if he needed to! which seemed pretty frequently! they seemed to work ok in their range but he usually ended up wrestling anyway

It is really sad that people have actually used these weapons in street fighting. Shame on you who have done this.

you know, i've seen everyone of those. except the 3-sectional staff. i've also seen someone use a chain dog leash against another person. now that looked like it hurt.

man the only fights I've seen, and mind you this is coming from complete inexperience, were just wayyyyyy over done (badly done) punches... the only thing other than that were a home made pepper thingie thrown into my friend's face, which really sucked for him... never saw it coming.

    Funny little story.

At work one day, some of the guys I worked beside came and told me they'd just confronted someone trying to break into my car.

The guy pulled a set of Nunchakus on them, threatened them and then walked off without incident.

Amusingly, in the trunk of my car were Nunchakus, Eskrima sticks, a Staff, a Baseball Bat and a Rambo knife.

Why am I never there when these things happen? :D

Nunchakus are legal in the UK?

    hwarang:
They are legal here aslong as you have a licence. And to get a licence you need to be an instructor, OR they can only be used in class.

Nope, I believe they are ok to carry to and from a place where they may be used (MA facility), so long as they are not immediately accessible.

Like the trunk of your car, or at the bottom of a Kit Bag.

Not sure, just something I read.

Ok, seperate the question from Andy's story.

I didnt ask if people used them, I asked if they were legal.

I thought they were illegal in the UK, I asked for confirmation. I got it. Thankyou Andy.

i dont know why you think it would be bad to use a weapon, if you were on the way to training and a gang tried to rob you, i guess it would be necessary to take out whatever training gear you had with you.

I keep a bat, glove, and ball in my car. I don't play baseball, but the glove and ball help justify the bat.

    LOL! :D

That's a good reason to keep a big stick like the baseball bat I suppose :D
