I think I'm better at guessing than making up questions, you'll probably hate this but anyway; plinky plinky plinky plinky plinky plinky plinky plink repeat (that's enough macho rock posturing, this is a lady of jazz)
I'm not believing this, no way, piter pater piter pater and you can tell its rain and which song it came from. Could've been that doors Song - forgot the name - Riders on the Storm?
we both know Jim Morrison was the lizard king and an adept at macho rock posturing so no,it's not the doors(or rain for that matter) . Your pm'ed answer was much closer but again, sorry,no cigar this time!
THANK YOU Boris! I'd read the 'plinky' clue this morning, instantly recognised the tune and have been going crazy while doing other stuff trying to work out what the flipping song was. Peace at last...

Nope - but very close. All those Liverpool post-punk bands, eh? Ok, here's a hint...you'll need it as the way I wrote the music is quite honestly garbage. The band started in the '76 under a different name. In '78 They had a few line up changes, took a new name and went on to become a legendary band. There were more line up changes in the 80's and a new band was formed that went on to have a more commercial sound and success.
Echo and the Bunnymen, Flock of Seagulls off the top of my head... Errgh...you've to get Belltoller wound up with this Name the Song business... I'll have to mull this one over, I'll reckon its as obvious as it can be, which is what makes it such a bait un
