Ok so this thread is going be like the "Intro's" round on "Never mind the buzzcocks"...but on the internet! I'm going to type out the intro to a song, using clever spellings of sounds, gaps etc, and you lot have to guess what the song is. I'll give it a day or so to get some guesses in and then the correct guesser can have a go at doing the same thing. No one post a new intro until the previous one has been guesses please. And if you get a go make it something people will actually know eh? That rare b-side that was only released in Japan on pink vinyl will just stall the thread. So here goes...name this tune! Derr dah der.....boff....dah do dah der der. Derr dah der...tsssh-boff...dah do dah der der. Dat dee dat dah do dar, Dat dee dat dah do dar. When someone guesses it I'll post a link to the song and then it's their turn!
Is this even possible? I can get two totally different things if I'm thinking of rock, rap, jazz, classical, blues, etc.. I think the genre should be given to accompany the wording, and informing on whether it's a slow, medium, or fast paced tempo. As it is now I will never have even an inkling of a clue.
Dunno. Just made it up! Where's the fun in that? Believe you me...once you hear the song it'll be obvious. It may not be one that's known in America to be fair.
I was thinking MAP should have one of these only yesterday, but the songs should be done in the style of a club singer like on shooting Stars. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2prE-DUyESY"]Shooting Stars[/ame]
Anyone from the UK who's over 30 will know this (they'll know the tune if not the name of it). It's a VERY distinctive bass line...I've said too much already.
Here's an example: Genre: Rap Tempo: Fast/Hard Dummmmmmm dummmmmmm dummmmmmmmm DUMMMMMMM Chirchirchirchirchirchirchirchir chir chir CHIR Dummmanaaa dumanaa dumanaa naaaaa Numaaanuuuh numuuuuh nuuuh nuuuh Spoiler DMX's 'Where The Hood At.' Would you have had any kind of clue without knowing it was rap and a fast/hard temp?
Well most of the intro to that song is rapping innit? And it's not exactly well known is it? I tell you what though...I do like the song. Never heard it before.
I don't even hear the lyrics for the first 30 seconds of the song, to me the voice melds in with the trumpets. One of my favorite rap songs! Not well known?! If you liked that song just type in "Grand Champ DMX album" on Youtube. DMX was really well known in the rap genre and he does/did a lot of tours in Europe too. If you listen to rap (not the hipster stuff today) you would know who DMX is as well as this song. He's fallen off with being in and out of jail and dealing with debt though. If you know who Tupac and Biggy Smalls are, DMX and JayZ follow right behind in the "who's who" of 90's rap. That's kind of the point I was making though. Without knowing the genre and tempo somebody couldn't even burn some times listening to music trying to find a match for the description. If we're sticking to well known songs it could vary from time period and age of MAP members, but with genre and tempo it gives something to work with and equal opportunity for others.
Got it! Not saying cos I couldnt figure out how to right a song like that. (Why did I even write that^^)
The only thing that comes to mind is "God save the queen", but I'm atrociously poor at this game even when they make the sounds on the show.
A'right....its: This I really didn't want to try and write out a song, but I have something in mind. I'll post later tonight or tomorrow midday Queen's time! Huzzah.
Is it the theme tune from the Littlest Hobo? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFZKlfRrGbw"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFZKlfRrGbw[/ame]
My guess was 1 or 2. You know the gestures I mean. Boris gets to do one. He guessed it. Peaches by The Stranglers. Surely one of the most famous and distinctive bass lines in music no? I'm sensing some hostility to my new thread but take it from me...I'm enjoying it.
