    I am still shocked that Shane McGowan lived longer than Kirsty McColl. Who would've seen that one coming.

    You seem to be mixing up Hardcore, Rock and Roll and Punk bands.

    The Ramones - not punk
    The Stooges - not punk
    Bad Brains - not punk.

    Ah dude, don't start genre wars. They're all valid classifications as punk rock. They might be sub-genred as other things but punk's as good a heading as any.

    I disagree with the classification, but if we are going cross genre, Glenn Danzig in his Misfits days.

    I am sure we could get into a very long and pedantic conversation about the finer points of punk / hardcore / rock and roll but lets just leave it at, we agree to disagree.

    Yes most of his stuff he did on his own is really not that good, and the Misfits essentially became a joke band after he left.
