Sad News For many years I posted photos and comments from my Sensei on these boards and I think it only fitting to wish him a fond farewll on here too. It is with great sadness that I have to pass on the news that our great friend and teacher John Plumbridge Sensei has died today after a short illness. He was in St Peters hospital and Barb his wonderful better half was with him. He is gone to the tatami in the sky.... Seoi t oshi will never be the same again. I will update everyone with arrangements next week. Our Sensei will always be remembered as a great martial artist a great friend and a gentleman. Domo arigato my Sensei John Plumbridge Sensei 09 Nov 1943 - 11 Nov 2016 RIP my friend
As I said to you on FB, the smile of a man who looked like he just loved to be on the mats with his students, who I'm sure were also friends. A terrible loss. R.I.P.
I was really saddened when I learnt of John Sensei's death last night. Great man who had a great and kind spirit and has been a major influence on me. John had forgotten more about Judo than some people learn during their career and he was always ready to help others get more out of the art he loved. Never forgotten RIP and arigato Sensei, Dojo will never be the same again.
RIP and condolences to all - he always appeared as a genuine guy and your noble sadness speaks to that
I'm not familiar with him but I'm sure he would feel honored and humbled by your post. My sincerest condolences to his family and students...
It sounds like he enriched many lives, lived well, and was loved by many. May we all be so lucky and may the gods keep him.
