Theft - robbery requires use of force or threat of same in order to acheive the theft And another good reason to always stay alert in the aftermath even if not involved!
That clip is used to teach the beginners. The proper "set up" is not included in that clip. In the following clip, the person drags his opponent's leading arm in circle, put himself into his opponent's "right side door - the blind side" to avoid his opponent's possible attack. That's not an example of a SD scenario. I may be mistaken but I was under the impression that the thread was about real situations where SD was used and caught on camera. Like the other videos in the thread.

If someone attacks your love one, you have to attack that person in order to save your love one. For example, when someone tries to stab a knife into your love one's heart, if you can stab your knife into that attacker's heart 1/2 second early, you can save your love one's life. Even if that person didn't attack you but you attack him, that's still "self-defense". If someone - attack you, you move back. - attack you the 2nd time, you move back again. - attack you the 3rd time, you still move back. If he attack you the 4th time, in stead of moving back, you move in, act like a tiger, and eat him alive. That's also a perfect self-defense scenario. Why do you want to move back in stead of just punching back? It gives you more time to think whether you want to send your opponent to hell, or to hide yourself in the Amazon jungle for the rest of your life.
Actually in essence yes - there are few places is it prohibited to throw the first punch if you believe it reasonable and necessary to do so
Actually yep, if the first time you realise your being assaulted/mugged etc is when its happening you've really messed up a long time ago.
