Any Tony Jaa movie obviously. The Raid: Redemption was already mentioned. I'd add that group's first movie, Merentau. Plot-wise it's almost identical to Ong Bak. Worth checking out though. Then there's the remake of Born to Fight starring Jaa contempary Dan Chupong. And Chocolate, starring another Jaa contemporary, Jeeja Yanin.
Doh! I was going to recommend that one! A little cartoonish in the amount of damage a skinny girl can take, but wow, does she impress!
Yep. Cartoonish for sure. But every fight scene in that flick is more awesome than the one before it.
Seven Samurai is my all time favorite. Chocolate was good. So was The Protector, another Tony Jaa film. Kingdom of war is another excellent Thai film.
But Dave, "Seven Samurai" is neither Thai nor similar to "Ong Bak." Good call on "The Protector," though. Don't mess with his Buddhas, and don't mess with his elephants.
And all the parodies, okay maybe parodies is the wrong word but a homage to some classic fight scenes like the two stick fight in the cellars in Enter the Dragon used in the Japanese restaurant at the end. only saw Chocolate last night, recognised plenty of TKD amongst the stunts and gymnastics

All of the ones I would have mentioned are posted. I will recommend Bang Rajan. It is more of a historical film about a small Thai village that holds off the invading Burmese army. I have loaned my copy to friends who don't normally watch Thai films and they have all loved it.
I'm not clear that it was an homage to the double stick scene from Enter the Dragon. Though I could be wrong. But the double sabre (daab) is the quintessential weapon combo in the Thai arts. In either event, I love that scene.
Chocolate is so cool We're overdue for a "Chocolate" clip. For those who don't know, the main character is this girl here. She's autistic, but in a super-hero way she's got the moves. In this first clip, her best friend was using her to make money gambling on the street. Then the street crowd got upset. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4f-xX4Qk7U"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4f-xX4Qk7U[/ame] After that she goes around to different people who owe her mother money, and demands payment. This warehouse scene reminds me of Jackie Chan. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DeOirzG91g"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DeOirzG91g[/ame] At the end of the movie she goes all Spider-Man in a must-see climactic battle on fire escapes!
I wouldn't either but you guys already called out the best ones. There is a lot of Krabi Krabong sword work in the film. I enjoy playing around with that so it was a particularly interesting movie.
It's one of the handful of Thai movies I've picked up on DVD. Specifically sought that one out after reading some really good reviews. It doesn't disappoint.
