I have to be honest and say much of that looked like a bitch slap competition. I saw a similar demonstration at SENI last year and I thought it was decent enough, but like Wing Chun it lacked the finishing shot. Bear in mind I come from a Kung Fu background. I remember getting involved in an incident at a petrol station many many years ago and hitting someone with a technique similar to those shown in the video. It did little more than annoy the other guy. Kung Fu is a great art, but why does it so often ignore a good old punch in the face when in close?

I did Shaolin Long Fist during my late teens and early twenties. I love the trapping hands and the speed of entry is excellent. I just feel that power is given up for all out speed. This I feel ruins the end product.

Good response. Unfortunately, I don't spend a lot of time searching videos. So far of those I have seen, there aren't many that gives me a "wow" feeling

Big mistake of a guy who learns a style that traditionally doesnt drill chokes trying to choke out a guy who trains how to choke people/get out of chokes.
Oh definately give him the props for staying in there, and also taking the fight. Just really bad strategy. Its like trying to rob a gun store or challenging Batman to Cluedo.
