Hey guys it's been a long time I have been doing tai chi for a little while now but never ranked before. The next ranking in my area is in louisville on the 25th and I am planning on ranking. Can anyone that has ever ranked before tell me what to expect? Thanks AF
Is this a Chinese duan ranking? The only ranking I have heard of in the west are the Japanese style dan grades awarded by the late Erle Montaigue.
Its the same as the duan system.I practice Sun family tai chi and at the moment we don't use a ranking system but things may change in the future.I should imagine the test will be specific to your school as I don't think there is an exact syllabus set by the Chinese government.It just has to follow the criteria set out in the link you posted.
Ok yeah just since I have never done it before I was just wondering what the experiance was like. Doing the form should be no problem for me as I could probably achieve rank 2 if they allowed me. Thanks for the response.
