    Hey,

I'm trying to find a decent quality exercise bike that folds up (necessity of storage space/floorspace) for my missus. Anyone got any recommendations? I have zero experience with these sort of machines so any general advice appreciated too!

Exercise Bikes tend to be quite bulky, and are really really boring to use.

Would a real bike be an option?

PS I know that's really unhelpful, your welcome!

Some of the more expensive road bikes can actually be purchased with a small frame which attaches to the back of the bike frame and rear wheel and provides resistance. That way you can use the bike as an exercise bike as well.

For a bike, exer-bike and the ability to chuck it in the shed or garage it might be worth it.

You don't need an expensive bike to get a turbo trainer, most bikes will fit on one. There is a decent choice in trainers and a large price range: http://www.evanscycles.com/categories/training-energy/turbo-trainers/f/turbo-trainer#!

If you have a mountain bike with knobbly tyres, then you will either need to get a smooth tyre for the back wheel or buy a rim driven turbo trainer: http://www.evanscycles.com/products/minoura/rda-2429-turbo-trainer-ec041719
