JHR is horse cack - and I can't say I am much more impressed with the Testa book Even Hikuta has a book out!
I just read the JHR thing on that site. It says boxing is african. Boxing and grappling evolved from everyone on earth who had arms and legs. The idea of having a system that incorporates head butts (testa is apparently only head butts which is useless) is interesting because is a valid tactic if done right. its ban from MMA i think is more an image reason because head butting seems "barbaric"
Reisy--the more correct name for "Testa", which is an Italian word and NOT a good way to refer to Reisy in the same way that saying "chop-socky" is a good way to refer to Asian martial arts so DON'T make it a habit of using it--is part and parcel of the capoeira I teach.
I figured as much, but I wagered that others would get this post and hopefully gain something worthwhile from it.
Very good point,sir. "TESTA" is Italian and it means "HEAD". Like "testa...rossa" means "RED HEAD". Ask your friend if he's ever heard of or seen Eritrean MARTIAL ARTS or WRESTLING, and the response will likely change.
