Just picked up this book the other day. It is by Tim Cartmell (Unique Publications, 1999, www.cfwenterprises.com). Really good book on how to "drop" attackers, using "internal" tai chi martial arts. Very solid stuff. Tim studied for 10 years in China and then in Taiwan. He did Hsing Yi Chuan, Tai Chi Chuan, and Pa Kua Chang. I don't have any real training in that, but from other martial arts, I can "get it" from his book. I really like his approach, and I like the concepts in this book a lot. I personally believe in throws as self-defense techniques. Just wanted to mention this, in case anyone else wants to check this book out.

Tim's website is http://www.shenwu.com if anyone is interested. There is a discussion forum where Tim answers questions, etc.
