I noticed some of the comments on there stating how fighters were a lot tougher back then compared to people like Souwer and Buakaw etc from this generation. Are they just keyboard warrior fools who couldn't kick the skin off a rice pudding or is there any truth to what they say?

I had to laugh at the comment about Buakaw's kicks being powerless though, fools!

Dekkers was one tough mother f*ker thats for sure, i don't know if you can call any Thai soft though... lol

If you compare K1 to Muay Thai, Muay Thai is a lot more 'hard core' and demanding tons of elbows and clinching, clinching is about 50% of the game in Thailand. I don't know how often these guys fight but they are doing it to make a living for small cash not the big bucks like in K1 food for thought i guess.

    Singto Laaw Strictly Muay Thai

We had the opportunity to go and train with him in February this year at his gym in Breda.

I would highly recommend going and training with him, he has a very different style of teaching, his gym is very good, and the town has lot of things to do after training.

if I remember correclty his boxing skills are very much from the 'rotterdam' school of boxing. He was one hell of a puncher.

One thing I love about Dekkers is the way he REALLY means his punches.
When he's throwing leather every punch seems designed to send his opponents head into the back row.
You can't not like that really.
