Yeah me too. It's quite weird reading some people on MAPs assessment of risk of harm from personal attack. Best form of self-defence I know is get to know everybody so no-one wants to beat you up.
Well I agree, but in a city of over a 1 million kinda hard to get to know everybody. Also, not everyone no mater how hard you try will like you. The type of job you work more often than not puts you in harms way. The other thing is you are more likely to fight with someone you know, than someone you don't know. This truly applies to family. The arguments alone in families to the onlooker can seem like a fight is about to happen. :topic: On topic. Yang Tiaji is part of a set of three arts called the internal for a reason. Combined they add to making the systems more fight oriented as a hole.
*Assumes Kwai Chang Caine voice* Then, space hopper, you must get everybody to know you! *Assumes my coach's voice* Or don't go out. Better yet, you do wushu like that, buy gun.
I couldn't agree more although it is best to concentrate on one and use drills from the others to complement your training as they are quite different.

"Children of men" has to be the worst movie I have ever watched five minutes of. What ever the lead actor in that name was he needs to quit now. I mean all acting. It was *****. On topic I don't think anyone learns to fight in the street mainly because you can not prepare for that. Cross training is good to let you know what your style is limited to in movement. I train in different thing because I like martial arts that simple. Body movement alone is worth it to me.
Ive found Tai Chi has improved my other MA skills, throwing, armlocks, movement, punching, balance and mind set. Ive recently taken up TKD and the hip movement of Tai Chi has made it very easy for me to learn how to move through the kicks.
Ummm Doesn't cross dressing make you hot and sweaty? Me and my gf's all go moist at the thought of a man in a skirt (not a kilt!) :topic: Sorry...I was led into temptation.! Back on topic. I do my best with push ups (weak right wrist) and do dumbbell work. No sit ups, but lots of stretching.
Yeah, not been here in a while! Not done a form in a while neither, not been making it down during the week, just Sundays. When I do a form at the moment all I can think is "Man I wish I was fighting someone..." I'm hyper yang at the moment!
