But man they are not happy. Many, man riots like this go unreported in the mainstream Western media.... but they are increasingly being leaked out of China more and via cell phones and other new methods. Check out the haphazard defensive phalanx the riot police pull. Granted this is YouTube. But as we see in many parts of the world where reporters and journalist are banned from covering such incidents - often time the first hand footage pops up on YouTube first. This would hardly be the first incident of this size. Very interesting.
Ok here's some more backstory here with links to more formal media sources. http://globalvoicesonline.org/2009/06/21/china-mass-incident-sparkled-by-a-dead-body/ It sounds like the typical problem in China. Police collusion/corruption and the death of a common working person being covered up or something funny going on... increasingly here in China we see the poor and the farmers and the common person not willing to just be payed off. They are increasingly starting to resort to mass uprising to get change. Very interesting.
Here is more with a different bit of video footage. As well as info on the Gov. enforced media blackout following the riots: http://english.ntdtv.com/ntdtv_en/ns_china/2009-06-22/787623339079.html
