Chess Boxing?

Is chess too boring for you?
An interesting concept... Chessboxing: Combining the no.1 thinking sport and the no.1 fighting sport into a hybrid.

Those crafty Dutchies have found a way to finally resolve the impasse in the chess world. Put the players in a boxing ring, let them play for four minutes and then duke 'em up for a round with the gloves.


The patronage of this new sport has been taken under it´s wing by the World Chess Boxing Organisation (WCBO). It propagates the spreading of chessboxing to all 5 continents. Further planed stations in 2004 are Berlin and Moscow. The motto of WCBO: 'Fighting is done in the ring and wars are waged on the board'.

are you leaving out Australia or South America? Assuming Antarctica is not big on chess boxing.... N.America, Europe, Asia, Africa,...

HAAHHAHA...we have the same chess board same rules...except when one guy loses a piece he gets PUNCHED in the face!! the game keeps going until one guy is knocked out.

 

Am I the only one that thinks its an awesome idea? I just think it should be more like Chess K1.

 

You make a move and fight a round, winner of round captures enemy piece!

 

The chess round is first so if you had a crap chess player against you, you could KO him in the first round!

I don't get it. You play chess, then you fight? I missed the connection. Could you elaborate please?

 

yep, you got it - a round of chess, then a round of boxing. Then start again. I think it's 14 rounds total? or something like that. You can win either by knockout , or checkmate , or if neither player wins like that then you count up all the points from both games and add them up. At least that's a very general idea, I may well be wrong with the details.

 

certainly makes chess a bit more interesting .. LOL

 

What next? Drunken boxing?

Round of boxing.

Wins in boxing by KO or stoppage.
Wins in drinks by KO or vomit
