Just because I'm curious, and he had to do some cardio to achive his physical shape. And I'm just a little curious;P
His physical shape had more to do with his diet, I was curious since I don't recall any particular CV achievements attributed to him. There's healthier ways to achieve a lean physique and cardiovascular techniques are a very small part of it. To answer your question, I have no idea what he would do for cardiovascular work. I remember looking into it a while ago and the majority of his diet and exercise was very outdated, unsurprising since there's been 30 or 40 years of development since his time.
Running, and lots of it. He also did lots of stuff that he didn't count as cardio but I would, such as bagwork etc.
@semper fi: no that wasn't BL, that was Jesus. you got your prophets mixed up. of course, Jesus stopped doing that the day moses parted the waters while he was at mid-run.
Seriously, if you're interested in bruce lee's routines, I recommend 'the art of expressing the human body'. I've got it, but not because I'm a bruce lee fanatic, honest...
his regular daily cardio routine consisted of roughly: 25 minutes of running 45 minutes riding an exercycle 30 minutes of rope jumping
He bounced up and down a lot. But crucially he went "Woop! Woop!" between each one. Surely the answer, I saw it on Enter The Dragon? Mitch
I heard that he did circuit training with weights to get the ripped look he had in Enter The Dragon. You may want to give that a try. Other than that, running and watch what you eat should do it, as well as lot's of ab work.
He jogged every day, He's interval training was Jog (1 Minute) - Sprint - Walk (1 Minute) Shadow kick-boxing - 3 minute ( 1 minute rest) Easy/Warm up Shadow Kick-boxing - 3 minute (1 minute rest) Push your self Skip Rope - 5 minute ( 1½ minute rest) Try all footwork Heavy bag - 3 minute (1 minute rest) punches, plus combinations Heavy bag - 3 minute (1 minute rest) kicks, plus combinations Light bag - 3 minute (no rest) Shadow kick boxing - 2 minute ( loosen up ) Endurance exercise: Stepping Bench Stepping Jogging
Read the book "The Art Of Expressing The Human Body" by John Little. Lee used the Marcy Circuit trainer to achieve the physique for Enter. His training methods and diet aren't outdated at all, that's a myth. Last time I checked Squats, Cleans and Presses and KB swings weren't outdated!
I have his book somewhere but can't find it, whats been said so far is right but he also did alot of trampoline work, he rated it highly for both getting good technique with kicks in the air and for cardio fitness.
