Breaking boards with a previously injured foot - risk of reinjury?

In 2007 I ripped the muscle in the bottom of my foot. Not just over stretched but literally ripped, though it didn't tear completely in half. I was on crutches for a month and had to wear a cast-boot for two months and use a cane for an additional month.

Within a few months I was able to go back to using it as normal, but even now, 5 years later, any time there's rain coming my foot starts hurting about 12 hours beforehand. I've read that this is common with muscular injuries, having something to do with atmospheric pressure.

Does this in some way mean that my foot did not correctly heal and I could risk reinjuring it if I did something like break a board with it?

I can't afford to go back to the foot doctor just to ask this question so I'm hoping someone else has experience and may be able to give me some guidance. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
