Hi - I'm new here and a female MA and fight movie fan - I wanted to hear your favorite female fight movies/scenes? I'm talking serious stuff, not cat fights.

    Mine include:
    Michele Rodriguez in Girlfight
Hillary Swank in Million Dollar Baby
Michele Yeoh in Police Story 2
Carrie Anne Moss in Matrix series
    Kate Beckinsale in Underworld
    Uma in Kill Bill 1+2

Anyone see Fight Night that stars Rebecca Neuenswander - she looks like she really kicks butt. I can't wait to check it out.

    Here's the trailer link:

Well I haven't seen a whole lot, but I have to say that Hillary Swank in Million Dollar Baby was great. In fact, she pulled off the character perfectly, the entire movie.

Have to agree with Michelle Yeoh in Police Story 2 and Michelle Yeoh in Crouching Tiger. There was also a movie, from the 80s I think with Michelle Yeoh in a white pantsuit and big hair. I think Cynthia Rothrock was in it, too. My memory is going foggy on this one.

I would agree on Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon,

I also think some of the fight scenes in House of Flying Daggers are quite impressive!!

I think chinese fight scenes seem so much more impressive than any others, but thats just my personal opionion

    katie :)

The girl who played allias in the TV series has a nice and nasty fight scene in The Kingdom.

I haven't seen the Kingdom yet, is Jennifer Garner in that?

Cynthia Rothrock is really a blast from the 80's. I remember renting those VHS tapes :)

I think Michelle Yeoh is always really great, and I think I remember hearing her saying she doesn't consider herself a good martial artist...hmmph....

I read that the star of Fight Night (rebecca neuenswander) was a 2000 Tae Kwon Do champion. I have to see that movie, I think it just came out on DVD.

Police Assassins! That's the one I was trying to remember! Thanks, Mushroom. Angela Mao is good, also. By the way, how could I forget Patricia Arquette in True Romance, one of my wife's favorite fight scenes, too.

Cool clips! Does anyone have any clips of Chocolate. I keep hearing how insane the girl is in this movie, but I haven't been able to check it out yet.

Don't fall for the hype like I did man. As soon as Chocolate came out, I rushed to the shop and I was massively disappointed with what I saw... :(

i love the fight scene in crouching tiger between michelle yeoh and the other lady, the one closer to the end when michelle keeps switching weapons while the other lady just fights with green destiny. i think it might be the best fight scene of all time, imo.

plus crouching tiger has the best martial arts movie name of all time...dark cloud. awesome! that's what i want my name to be!

19th. Moon Lee - good shout.

I saw one fight scene from Chocolate and thought it was terribly annoying with her bad Bruce Lee imitation...that is sooo 90s.

Princess Blade - MA choreo by Donnie Yen, shame about the film

That's disapointing if Chocolate isn't that good - I was pretty hyped up to see it

I saw Police Assassins at a hong kong festival awhile back and I agree that was hot. Yeoh pretty much isn't mentioned very often except for Crouching, but she's done a bunch or great roles with really tight fight scenes. and Rothrock...pure classic!

I just caught Fight Night this weekend - it just came out on DVD and it was actually pretty good. More of a Million Dollar Baby, not 100% boxing, but more of a drama and action mix. Rebecca Neuenswander is a really good actress and looked pretty natural with the boxing choreography which was something I was really skeptical about. And whether or not you can believe her character could beat up guys twice her size, they make it work in the movie.

All of them are awesome, but for me the best female fighter of my age is her:

She is the female Tony Jaa of Thailand, Jeeja Yanin Vismitananda is a 3rd Dan Taekwondo expert and trained Muay Thai for two years.

She is my ideal woman. :D
