I don't follow AFL all that much (prefer to follow the rugby) but for most of the country this sport is a religion. Nothing like soccer, nothing like American Football and completely different to rugby. This is a sport for hard buggers.

I dont mind watching a bit of AFL from time to time. When Sydney make one of their famous comebacks, even people that usually hate AFL scream with enthusiasm.

Edit: Oh btw, if you like to watch massive Biffs (Fights), then AFL is the sport for you. People are very rarely sent off for fighting, and you will see several a game.
