Good stuff @Knee Rider ! I always dread the first run back after time off, and some push-ups to finish,I like it :D

If you don't have a natural inclination for running, and your sneakers look like something a homeless person would set on fire, try some sprints on the rowing machine. A couple of 500m sprints, done in 2 minutes or less, with a minute's break between rounds, will kick your ass. Saves your joints too.

Haha my trainers look like something a box cart hobo wouldn't micturate on if they WERE on fire, irrespective of how they ended up in flames.

I'd love to get on a rower but I don't have access to one. I'm just going to invest in some runners for summer. I was planning to in Dec/Jan but I find it hard to get the time to run during the week in winter, so I stopped.

Articulacy is the vehicle by which I circumnavigate the TOS with aplomb.

This is where I would usually say that someone has a HUGE vocabulary, but only a TINY dictionary (whilst more clearly enunciating the 1st 3 letters of the latter) ;)

    Gentle jog today

    Average pace 6.53mins per km
    8km

Got overtaken by a spandex clad pensioner. The fire of my deep internal shame probably burned a few extra calories.

I keep trying to convince her that the dog is actually a doberman but has worn its legs down with all the running... :)

Hahah that happens to me all the time, usually they have really bad running form with arms flailing around as they breeze past me and into the distance.

Part of me justifies it by thinking they are on a short run, but I see them go past again later in my run lapping me.:eek:

I went through exact same tortuous mental self-justification process!! I did see them walking later though, which took the sting away a little. Still, I suck... Onwards and upwards! Haha

Good stuff! Pace a little faster, did it feel easier, or more of a case of pushing the pace more?

I usually run in the morning/after I get up on no food and a cup of coffee. I also usually run without music.

Today I ran after work, was well fed and had a playlist of obnoxiously aggressive industrial metal to propel me forward.

Not waaaaaay faster but a bit faster :D
